As an NPI Engineer, you'll support our manufacturing engineering team, enhancing our product portfolio and resolving quality issues. You'll lead New Product Development/Introduction (NPD/I) and LCE projects, focusing on system and module testing in an electromechanical environment. Coordinate test engineering activities, ensuring top performance of test systems and seamless implementation of changes.Do something that moves you.This is a 12-month contract role where you will apply mechanical, electrical and software development engineering principles to support the manufacturing and test system development at our Rydalmere R&D site.Key Tasks will include:Continuous process improvement activities around production of two of our medical devicesCreate and maintain manufacturing processes and procedureTool, Jig/Fixture design, testing and implementationTest fixture design support to the test engineering teamPart/manufacturing failure investigation, troubleshooting and improvementManufacturing engineering support and presence to the production teamImprove Manufacturing processes and techniques to improve COGS and QualitySupport NPD development, handover to Production and launch activities as needed, pilot production processes, development builds and validation activitiesEnsure early and effective integration of manufacturing test strategy in the new product design process to improve test coverage, test outcomes, and product qualitySupport the design and code reviews of project and modulesPro-actively communicate project status, goals & roadblocks to key project stakeholders on an ongoing basisTroubleshoot test software and test fixture hardware to ensure they meet specifications and requirementsSupport technical consulting, test strategy readiness to peers and New Product Development (NPD) teamDoes this sound like you?To be successful in the role you will have:Bachelor's in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Industrial or Biotechnology EngineeringMinimum of 3 years' experience in engineering discipline roleCAD design tool knowledge such as, but not limited to: SolidWorks, CATIA, etcSoftware programming knowledge such as, but not limited to: C++, Python, etcWorking knowledge and proven skills of PC computer operating systems including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Preferred:3-5 years' work experience in Product supply disciplines and manufacturing engineeringKnowledge of medical device products and processes (manufacturing technology/logistics/quality assurance/product development/regulatory affairs) under ISO13485Understanding of basic automated test software equipment and technologiesKnowledge of software lifecycle development tools like Git within platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian, Jira, etcDemonstrated skills which include drive for results, communication, interpersonal, collaboration and relationship building.Be You @ BayerWe are committed to creating a culture where people can be their best, in an environment that values inclusion, diversity and flexibility.
