Join our team as a Workshop Foreman and play a key role in managing and improving our busy fabrication workshop in Darwin.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, as a member of the Leadership Team, you will have the autonomy and support to manage all aspects of the work, with a stable, quality team of trades to deliver it. Your communication, organisational skills, and attention to detail are as important as your technical ability.
About the Role:
As Workshop Foreman, you'll be responsible for:
Leading a team of tradesmen and trades assistants daily. Overseeing all fabrication activities to ensure work is completed to high standards. Ensuring efficient processes are followed to meet production timelines. Monitoring team performance and providing guidance to maintain quality and productivity. Actively checking and assessing the work being done by tradesmen on the shop floor. Driving continuous improvement and implementing changes to enhance workflow. About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Proven experience as a fabricator, with the ability to guide and mentor others. Strong understanding of workshop operations and efficient fabrication processes. Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate the team. The ability to identify and implement improvements in a dynamic work environment. A hands-on approach to leadership, ensuring tasks are executed correctly. A commitment to safety and quality standards. Cert III trades qualified in a metals trade (fabrication, fitting, etc). Extensive Supervisory experience within an engineering environment. Safety conscious and quality driven in all aspects of employment. OH Crane and dogging / rigging experience. What We Offer:
