Northern Territory PHN leads the development and coordination of an equitable, comprehensive primary health care system and an engaged health workforce driven by community needs.
About the Opportunity The purpose of this role is to lead initiatives that address health workforce and service delivery needs in the NT primary health care sector. In partnership with client health services and key stakeholders, the Workforce Consultant is focused on driving strategic projects and initiatives to address key challenges that affect the quality, availability and sustainability of the primary health care workforce.
Through strategic partnerships and innovative initiatives, the Workforce Consultant leads processes to attract, recruit and retain a skilled and engaged health workforce in the Northern Territory. The position is also responsible for tailoring workforce programs to meet individual health professional and health service needs. This includes integrating workforce management into other workforce programs, including grants, incentives, future workforce and education programs to ensure the NT has a stable and sustainable primary health care workforce.
Each of the Workforce Consultants report to the Workforce Engagement Team Lead and will work primarily across a key area of focus: medical, nursing or allied health. The portfolio of the workforce consultant may change based on business needs.
If you have the following skills and experience, we'd love to chat: Knowledge or training equivalent to a degree in human resources or other related field such as business, organisational psychology or project management; or relevant, equivalent expertise and experience in areas such as recruitment, talent management or workforce development. Demonstrated expertise in internal and external stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated experience in successful client relationship management. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of contemporary recruitment and retention practices including candidate attraction strategies, preferably with experience in case management of placements. Highly developed interpersonal skills, working across a variety of cultural backgrounds, including strong verbal and written communication and networking abilities. Excellent time-management and organisation skills with demonstrated ability to work across multiple projects/programs and prioritise workload effectively. Demonstrated skills in leading projects and/or programs, initiatives with demonstrated success in in the management and delivery of projects using project management principles and methodology. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team and to partner with other internal functions to ensure optimal service delivery to external clients. Demonstrated experience in contributing to continuous quality improvement and working as part of a high-functioning team. What's in it for you?
