About the role:
Northern Star Resources has an exciting leadership opportunity at our
Thunderbox Operations
for a dynamic and driven
Mechanical Leading Hand
working FIFO ex Perth on
8 days on 6 days off
rotation. The Mechanical Leading Hand reports to the Mechanical Supervisor, and the primary role is to assist in leading the Maintenance Team in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices/procedures meet company safety & operational standards within the statutory standard.
Here's what awaits you…
Carry out maintenance activities on all Fixed Plant Equipment as directed, in a safe and efficient manner, whilst adhering to Company Standards, Policies and Procedures.
Execute the work in accordance with the schedule, scope, quality standards and within agreed timeframes.
Order parts and materials for Work Orders as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor and escalate any issues in a timely manner.
Provide input into mechanical improvements of the processing plant.
Assist in managing performance and productivity of the team, including coaching and development to employees of a lower level.
To thrive in this role, you'll need…
Experience:
The successful applicant will have 4 years minimum experience in the Mining Industry with demonstrated experience in fault-finding and diagnostics. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment will be highly regarded, along with experience working in a fixed plant environment.
Qualifications:
A current "C" Class Western Australian Driver's License and Trade Certified in Mechanical Fitting or Boilermaker/Fabrication.
