You will play a pivotal role in upholding these Values and contributing to our collective success.About our roleNorthern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Safety & Training Advisor to support and assist the Mining Team in the development, review, and delivery of Open Pit training and safety systems and standards programs at our Carosue Dam Operations.This is a permanent full-time role offered on a 15 days on, 13 days off FIFO roster.Here's what awaits you:Develop, implement, and maintain Open Pit operating procedures, standards and training manuals for mining equipment and operations.Assist with the development and delivery of competency-based training and assessment for the Open Pit teams.Coaching, mentoring, and supporting Open Pit Supervision as required.Complete all relevant training and assessment documentation accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining records within INX In Tuition.Maintain current industry knowledge and skills for Training and Assessing qualifications and hold any relevant current vocational competencies.Liaise with the Open Pit Manager and relevant personnel to schedule Open Pit training and assessing activities.Assist in the development and delivery of Safety & Training Toolbox presentations.Be proactively involved with continuous OHS improvements.Ensure incidents are reported and investigated according to policy and statutory requirements.Facilitate and participate in incident investigations to establish root causes and determine corrective actions.Provide an advisory and supportive role to Department Heads in HSEC matters.Conduct regular inspections and in-field observations to maintain a compliant, secure, and dynamic work environment.Deliver company and site relevant inductions when required.To thrive in this role, you'll need:Experience: Previous experience working in a similar role in an open-pit mining environment, with strong skills in leadership, mentoring, and coaching.
