Utilise your strong engagement skills to be a first point of contact for families and community entering the Family Connect in Schools Program Provide high quality, strengths-based and person-centred intake, assessment, and interventions, with a focus on child safety Be innovative and solution-focused in your approach to supporting families Work within a highly skilled, supportive, and motivated team Job Description Family Connect in Schools has a vacancy working with a number of Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Tweed and surrounding areas. This position is 5 days a week, contracted until 31 December 2025. Family Connect is an early intervention service providing timely information and advice, appropriate warm referrals, and practical assistance to children, young people, and families. The ability to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service, build positive connections, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders are essential to the position. The role will include completing intake and/or risk assessments, case coordination, and linking families into support services while having a child safety lens about your work. The ability to build collaborative robust relationships within the school community and work within the ethos of the Catholic Schools is essential to the position.
The successful candidate will have:
A deep understanding of the challenges that face families, children, and young people, particularly those in marginalised groups. The ability to achieve positive outcomes for families within a fast-paced environment. Strong administration skills with a focus on data entry and case noting. Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways. Experience of working with a child safety lens. Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health, education, psychology, social work, early childhood, social welfare, or similar.
