Business Unit: Waste Management & Cleansing
Title: Waste Planning and Compliance Officer, Temporary - Full-time Role, to end December 2026 (35 hours per week).

Salary Range: $77,698.62 to $90,297.59 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Northern Beaches Council is currently implementing its new Waste and Circular Economy Strategy which includes a broad spectrum of waste management services and projects including domestic waste collection, community facilities development, events, education and workshops.
Waste Services is also actively involved in the review of development applications to ensure we are building new residential developments for future sustainability.

The key focus areas of this role include:
Review, advise and represent Council in relation to waste management aspects of development application pre-lodgements, development referrals and court appearances to improve the design of buildings and households to facilitate effective waste management.
Providing support to the Field Compliance Supervisor and Manager Domestic Waste in compliance duties, including ensuring resident compliance with waste presentation requirements and waste contractor performance of domestic/council waste service.
Advising on issues to improve access to properties, including access rights through private property, and for assisted waste collection services.

We're looking for an organised and proactive team player to join our Waste Services Team.
You'll bring strong communication skills to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
