About The Role The Senior Medical Officer reports to the Medical Superintendent of the Cloncurry Hospital and is responsible for providing clinical care to patients and clinically managing, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care, delivered to the highest professional and ethical standards.
Requirements Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. Current registration with or/eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. The successful applicant will be appointed between classifications Level 13 and Level 25. Appointment as a Rural Generalist (Level 18 to Level 25) or Provisional Fellow (Level 13 to Level 14) will require one or more of the following advanced skills - Mental Health, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Emergency Medicine, Indigenous Health. Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis. A period of probation may apply.
