Description: Student Advocacy & Community seeks a reliable student assistant to assist the Center for Student Advocacy & Community in its departmental mission of serving first-generation, First Time In College (FTIC), low-income, and other underserved groups at UHD.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be available to work 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM-5:00 PMMust have the ability to multi-task and interact professionally with staff, faculty, and studentsMust be familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPointMust be well-organized, responsible, punctual, and a self-starterMust have good people skills and a professional attitude and appearanceMust have effective verbal/written communication skillsPerform opening and closing procedures and follow all UHD emergency proceduresQualifications: Must be a current UHD studentMust have a 2.5 GPA or higherAbout University of Houston Downtown: Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is the second-largest university in Houston and has served the educational needs of the nation's fourth-largest city since 1974.
