Job Description - Non-College Work-Study, S&F (Front Desk/Reception) (STU001842) The Wellness and Success Center (WSC) is open seven (7) days per week.
The applicant must be willing to work during operational hours as posted on its website.
Special Note: The WSC facility will observe the approved University of Houston-Downtown holiday schedule and/or approved closures due to inclement weather.
Hourly Rate: $12/hr.

ResponsibilitiesPerform open and/or closing procedures, following all UHD emergency guidelines and standard procedures.Respond to inquiries about the facility, membership options, rules, and regulations.Facilitate the issuance, rental, and/or sale of supplies, including but not limited to lockers, towels, shirts, and socks.Provide assistance to members, guests, and/or authorized staff entering and/or exiting the facility.Record details of attendance, sales, and receipts.
Communicate equipment repair needs to the Sports & Fitness leadership.Maintain/inspect and secure inventory, including items to be sold and/or issued for use during the shift.Maintain confidentiality of the identity of membership records and transactions completed.Complete clerical duties as needed (i.e., data entry, filing, copying, mail distribution).Will attend training to ensure the continued safety of its guests and members.Perform all other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to multi-task and interact professionally with staff, faculty, and students.Familiarity with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel).Well organized, responsible, punctual, and a self-starter.Good people skills, presenting a professional attitude and appearance.Effective verbal/written communication skills.Willingness to provide excellent customer service daily.QualificationsMust be available to work 20 hours per week during the facility's hours of operation.Candidate must be a current UHD student with a 2.0 cumulative GPA or above.About University of Houston-Downtown Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is the second-largest university in Houston and has served the educational needs of the nation's fourth-largest city since 1974.
