About the role The Night shift Mechanical Fitter role is a Full-time position, based at Springvale, Victoria.
Reporting to the Production Manager at our Rooftile Manufacturing site, you will be working Monday to Friday 10pm to 6am assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be required to have a manufacturing or Building background, Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or Boilermaker Certificate, have good attendance and have a strong awareness and regard for health, safety and the environment.
Duties & Responsibilities: * Operating machine.
* Covering operator meal breaks.
* Participating in profile changeovers.
* Complete planned maintenance tasks.
* Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
* Complete repairs or modifications as requested by the Maintenance Planner or Shift Supervisor.
* Replace parts as required.
* Working with a small cleaning crew with a supervisor.
* High speed machinery – 120 tiles per minute.
* Mechanical Fitting, maintenance related to conveyors, stacking plant, cranes, drives, polycord conveyors, bearings rollers etc.
* Fabrication-Simple stick and MiG welding * Machine tools - Occasional use of milling machine, lathe and pedestal drill.
* Maintain safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
