The Next Generation Director oversees the kids and youth ministries at Liberti Gold Coast. This is a full-time role that provides leadership to the Liberti Kids and Liberti Youth teams, developing these teams to deliver gospel-centred curriculum, ministry, and biblical teaching in age-appropriate environments. Partnering with families in the discipleship of the younger generations of our church, this is a role for a leader of leaders, who is able to create ecosystems of discipleship for children and teenagers that scale with the growth of these ministries.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall health of our rapidly growing Liberti Kids ministry, presently consisting of 200+ children between ages of 0-11.Continues to build a joy-filled, engaging, Jesus-focused kids ministry, where children are taught the Bible in safe and age-appropriate environments.Actively communicates with parents to cultivate a culture of family discipleship, looking for opportunities to equip, welcome, and connect with them, particularly on Sunday mornings.Leads and cares for a team of volunteers passionate about serving in Liberti Kids.Actively builds out and rosters weekly team of kids ministry volunteers, ensuring child-adult ratio is met in each of our Kids rooms.Organises and distributes "The Gospel Project" curriculum for weekly Kids services.Assists Connect/Pastoral Care team to connect new families into the life of the church.Facilitates and assists with special events relating to families.Participates in weekly team meetings.Oversees weekly Playgroup meetings.Responsible for overall health of Liberti Youth ministry, presently consisting of 40-50 high school students, that has a large and growing wave of children who will be moving from 'Kids' into 'Youth' over the coming years.Cultivates clear discipleship pathways that provide continuity from Liberti Kids to Liberti Youth as young people make that transition.Leads, develops, and cares for a team of volunteers passionate about serving in Liberti Youth.Plans Friday night gatherings through the school terms each year for Grade 7-12 students.Facilitates leadership meetings and trainings as required for volunteer youth leaders.Able to teach God's Word at an age appropriate level, while equipping leaders to do likewise.Works alongside the Liberti Teaching Team for Friday night messages and devotionals, rostering them on as required for the biblical instruction of teenagers throughout the year.Plans and leads the annual Liberti Youth Camp.QualificationsBachelor degree in Ministry or Education, or equivalent experience in church leadership roles.Fulfils the character qualifications of deacon as taught in the Scriptures (1 Timothy 3:8-13).Passionately agrees with and promotes the Mission, Vision, Distinctives, and Beliefs of Liberti Church.Has a gospel-centred lens through which they view God's Word, their life, and their ministry.Is marked by a life of prayer.Demonstrates humility and teachability, is hungry to learn and grow in their leadership.Demonstrates confident leadership that is able to lead large teams of volunteers and take initiative.Shows relational warmth and emotional intelligence; has the ability to communicate wisely and graciously in both spoken and written forms.Trustworthy: Has the experience and maturity to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner.Resilient: Understands the 'long-haul' mentality of faithful ministry. Knows how to take a hit, rehearse the gospel, lean into the Holy Spirit, and keep going.Strong administrative and problem-solving skills: is resourceful, foresees challenges and supplies possible solutions.Dependable, flexible, and proactive: can get a lot done with limited direction & basic instructions.Role-models an organised and disciplined life; sets high standards and supports those standards with practical routines.Committed to upholding the Liberti Staff Values, cultivating a unified teamwork and collaboration with other staff and leaders.All Liberti staff must hold a current Blue Card for working with children, which ensures they have completed a National Police History Check that returns no disclosed outcomes that would exclude them from their role.The Next Generation Director works closely with and reports to the Ministries Director at Liberti Gold Coast, and alongside the other Liberti Staff. Hours: This is a full-time position of 5 days per week (38 hours).
Start date: Negotiable, though the ideal candidate will be able to begin by December 1, 2024.
Compensation: Above industry standards and to be discussed upon application as required.
