A mix of office and site-based work. Drive & develop mining projects. Oversee design, QA, FMEA, fabrication processes. Estimation & BD assistance. Maintain compliance with mining and Australian Standards. Hybrid Role.
Company & Projects: A specialist company with a national footprint in multi-disciplinary heavy industrial projects. With 5 offices across Australia, they want to expand their Structural and Civils Division with a Project Engineer. Projects range from various industries including:
Water & Wastewater Infrastructures Mining Petrochemicals Port & Piers Factories Production Plants BULK Materials handling Processing Plants around Australia This position sits within their mining division.
Job Responsibilities: Work closely with Directors and Project Managers to provide technical support for underground construction projects. Offer Project Engineering, technical support, and process improvement strategies (Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering). Liaise with external clients and key site teams to support all aspects of best-in-class shaft mining, crushing, and material handling services. Review and develop design and construction methodologies and fabrication processes, working closely with the drawing office, design, and production departments. Estimation and business development assistance, working closely with the Estimators and Bid Management teams to prepare quotes, reports, permits, and project documentation, focusing on process improvement strategies. Oversee quality management plans including inspection and test plans (ITP's) and field inspection check sheets (FIC's). Conduct longer-term continuous improvement activities to support underground vertical development methodologies. Involve in FMEA, FEA, VAVE, and root cause analysis. Maintain compliance with mining and Australian Standards. Hybrid position: office and site-based, on occasion, when projects get busy, you will work a 2-1 roster. Report and present project analysis. To apply you will have: A committed Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineer. Expert knowledge in civil and structural engineering (essential). At least 5 years of experience within underground mining/construction projects. Chartered / RPEQ is advantageous. Salary: Our client offers competitive remuneration packages, $175,000 to $225,000 + Super (depending on experience) and package.
