The News Assistant is a perfect entry point for a graduate journalist, communications or media studies student. They perform functions across both editorial and operational facets of television news production. Supporting the 7 Tasmania News Producer, the News Assistant helps to source, prepare, ensure the accuracy of, and deliver network content, on-air graphics, and closed captioning content for live news broadcasts. They may also contribute to writing news updates. This role may also involve news administration support.
Experience we're looking for: Demonstrated interest in news and current affairsA team player with strong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work with limited supervision and meet strict deadlines under pressureExperience in, or ability to quickly gain knowledge in news production and content management systemsKnowledge of video editing software is an advantage, as is a knowledge of social media tools and platforms, and photo and video editing appsKnowledge of media law and best practiceKeen?
