News And Sports Reporter/Photographer

The Nassau County Record seeks a full-time news and sports reporter/photographer to join its newsroom. The right candidate should have strong writing abilities and the capability to write news and feature stories in addition to the occasional sports story. Photography includes coverage of local events and youth, middle and high school sports coverage. To be clear, the right candidate must write news stories, not just cover sports. We need a reporter who can write about everything, not someone whose passion is only for sports.
Knowledge of AP Style is essential but can be learned on the job. The position does require nights, including most Friday nights during football season, and the occasional Saturday or Sunday assignment.
