DescriptionFairfax Neonatal Associates, P.C. is seeking full-time, part-time, and per-diem Newborn Hospitalists to join our private practice group. Our team collaborates with award-winning community hospitals in Northern Virginia, which includes Inova Fairfax, Inova Fair Oaks, Inova Alexandria and Inova Loudoun Hospitals.Applicants must be Board Certified (BC)/Board Eligible (BE) and CPR/NRP certified. Applicants must also have experience with deliveries.We offer competitive pay, benefits, and generous paid time off for full-time employees. We also have Part time and Per Diem schedules available. Premium weekend and holiday pay is also available.Duties/Responsibilities:Conducts daily hospital rounds on all assigned pediatric patients.Provide direct care to pediatric patients to include diagnosis and treatment as necessary.Understands and follows performance standards for hospital providers.Work closely with hospital team to include Physicians, PA's, NP's and Nurses to maximize efficiency and coordinates medical care across service lines to ensure alignment of resources.Communicates and coordinates with other Inpatient and Outpatient physicians.Attends deliveries and works closely with Obstetricians and in-house NeonatologistsRequirementsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of and ability to apply professional pediatric medical principles, procedures, and techniques as appropriate.Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.Ability to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.Ability to receive detailed information and exchange ideas verbally.Ability to communicate clearly and develop positive interactions with patients, families, physicians, agencies, and staff regarding patient care.Ability to develop meaningful and impactful doctor/ patient/ caregiver relationships exhibiting compassionate bedside manner.Education & ExperienceMD or DO degree with American Board of Pediatrics-recognized pediatric residency (three years minimum).Valid certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and renewed prior to expiration.Valid and unrestricted Virginia Board of Medicine medical license.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificationDEA LicensePhysical RequirementsVisual/ hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/ verbal communication.Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include lifting of supplies, patient, and equipment.Extensive bending, standing, walking or sitting may be required.The statements above reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary toperform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the workrequirements of the position.
