The WhatAs the Supplier Relations Manager you will have a diverse and varied role. Here are just some of the things you'll be getting involved with:
Supplier Programs and Relationships:Oversee TAG APAC's Hotel and Car Supplier programs and relationshipsConsult with Commercial Director to develop and implement hotel and car programs and preferred partnerships, to support the best commercial outcomes for the businessProvide high levels of service internally and externallyRFP Process Management:Manage the Request for Pricing (RFP) process, including distribution and loading of supplier rate updates for the TAG APAC Hotel ProgramDeal with queries related to vendors and RFPs, providing solutions and liaising with staff and suppliersAdditional Programs:Assist in increasing value-added benefits for TAG clients via TAG negotiated ratesAssist Commercial Director to build a comprehensive product range to support all divisions of TAG – Touring, Production, Corporate, Events, Private Travel and Corporate EntertainmentWork closely with Commercial Director on cultivating beneficial commercial partnerships with the likes of CT Partners, Virtuoso and other new distribution partners as and when neededData Management:Collect and store hotel information on relevant database systemsEnsure data accuracy and update relevant files as neededRelationship Building:Represent TAG at various industry functions, events and tradeshows across APAC as requiredDevelop and maintain cohesive working relationships with hoteliers and other suppliersBuild long term, mutually beneficial partnerships with the industry with a view to always be 'Partner of Choice'Staff Training and Development:Coordinate staff attendance at supplier training sessions and industry eventsEnsure timely and effective communication of all supplier related updates to selling agentsEncourage attendance at in-house training, presentations, FAM trips, and supplier functionsOperational Coordination:Ensure smooth operation of back-office systems related to suppliersLiaise with other departments, especially IT and Global Services, for effective database use and client benefitsLegal Compliance:Operate in accordance with company bribery policies and adhere to PCI regulations in accordance with Company policy.Additional Responsibilities:Contribute to other supplier relations activities as neededManage delivery of TAG/Bundl packages for key events in AustraliaHotel and Supplier Management (Additional Details):Manage accommodation-related queries and issues and work proactively to resolve for commercially beneficial outcomes for TAGProvide customer service, adhere to service level agreements, and consider yield and inventory managementRegularly report on delivery, sales, and risk analysisWork with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of paymentsNegotiate rates and terms with key suppliers and hotel partnersSystem Management:Set up and manage allocations and contracts for suppliers and vendorsCreate and maintain supplier profiles, load inventory, and update supplier details in the systemThe HowTo be successful at TAG is as much about mindset and attitude as it is about skill set and qualifications. We work flexibly to accommodate our TAG team colleagues, meaning on occasion there could be requirements outside of office hours to manage time zones and other work commitments. As the Supplier Relations Manager there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important.
Certificate or diploma in travel, tourism or related field OR in lieu of education, equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.5+ years of relevant experience in a procurement or negotiation-focused role. Or within the travel industry and/or hotel, supplier relations role.Strong knowledge and understanding of supplier contracts, pricing, RFPs, commissions, mark-upsKnowledgeable about APAC hotels, specifically destinations close to major venuesStrong negotiation skills and financial acumenAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsAdvanced customer service, change management, and time management skillsAdvanced knowledge & understanding of negotiated contracts / pricing and RFP processesKnowledge of hotels within Asia Pacific, specifically destinations close to major venuesPassionate about events and travelThe Where and WhenThis is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) based in our Sydney office. Since March 2020, we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.
You will report into the Commercial Director, who is based in Sydney. There are other regional teams based in Singapore, NZ, UK and the US that you may work closely with, too.
