The Senior Medical Scientist position, having attained greater specialist knowledge through appropriate professional development and operational experience, assists the Principal Medical Scientist in the timely and appropriate operational management of the clinical neurophysiology unit which results in the provision of a client-centred diagnostic service.
The incumbent is required to undertake diagnostic tests of a complex nature with reduced supervision and contribute to service development activities.
Skills and experience A relevant bachelor degree qualification with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience is essential.Recognised qualification in diagnostic clinical Neurophysiology with proof of competency to perform routine diagnostic studies.Proficient in the application of the 10-20 measuring system and individual lead application.Knowledge of basic electronics pertaining to Neurophysiology equipment and recordings.Proficient in the use of digital recording systems used in Neurophysiology.Ability to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and individually.Ability to communicate efficiently with colleagues and patients.Have the necessary skills to demonstrate and explain procedures to trainees and other relevant healthcare workers when required.Possess knowledge of equipment performance to be able to troubleshoot problems with biomedical engineers and equipment providers.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion CALHN is an Equal Opportunities employer committed to providing an inclusive workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion for all employees.
