Job Summary
We are looking for a driven Network Technical Specialist to support and operate Telstra operating environments to the highest level to achieve the requirements of our operating agreements in our Global Operations Centre in Clayton, Victoria.
As part of a team, contribute to the security and operation of Telstra assets and services. The role is crucial for improved customer experience and hence improved NPS ratings for security, applications, and services. The role is also critical to reducing cost and time of Telstra business processes, both for the customer and Telstra as a business.
What you'll do
Maintain high availability and performance service levels within technically complex environments.
Work effectively as a leader, technology specialist or project operative to produce agreed business outcomes.
Detect & respond to customer impacting events and proactively identify and drive resolution of Network at Risk events.
Communicate with stakeholders, support groups, DevOps and Incident Management teams, and external partners and organisations.
Monitor alarms and manage incidents end-to-end (from creation to resolution).
Manage changes and organise hardware replacement activities.
What you'll bring
Demonstrated relevant professional experience in real-time operational environments preferably with some exposure to large and complex, mixed technology internet-facing systems and applications.
Operational experience in a broad range of technology areas including:
A good understanding of the ITIL framework.
High level of problem solving and analytical skill.
Self-motivated and willing to own and solve issues.
Well-developed written and oral communications skills.
Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to establish effective work relationships.
Good personal tact, discretion, judgement and interpersonal skills are essential.
Willingness to work in a shift environment covering 24x7x365 operations.
High desirable
Scripting, Data analysis and business improvement experience.
Practical experience in negotiating and in making presentations to a range of audiences, including vendors.
Relevant Security, Unix, LINUX or Windows certification(s).
Networking certification.
