7 + 12 + 12 month contract - Multiple Positions $140 - $165 per hour (inc-Super) Baseline Security Clearance Required North Canberra Address Our client, a very large Federal Government Organisation, whose focus is on national security, emergency management, border control, immigration and multicultural affairs, is seeking the experience of multiple Network & Security Gateway Engineers for a long 7 + 12 + 12 month contract, based in Belconnen, ACT.
Duties of the Network & Security Gateway Engineer Providing technical expertise to projects and business areas, and leading the technical deliverables.
Undertaking a range of activities in support of the management and operation of the Department's secure Internet gateway, secure systems, data centre and network services.
Day to day monitoring and support of network and gateway systems including Data Centre technologies, SMTP email systems, SSL Gateways, Load Balancers, Proxy systems, Firewalls and IPS.
Undertaking enhancement and remediation activities across network and gateway systems.
Skills and Experience Required Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated experience as a Network & Security Gateway Engineer.
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
Ability to distil requirements from complex scenarios and processes, including developing new processes where required.
Demonstrated analytical background and experience in Agile methodology.
Demonstrated experience in implementing IT solutions for large, highly integrated government or similar scale private organisations (desired).
Knowledge of Cloud/Security/Automation technologies (desired).
A solid understanding of gateway and ICT security technologies (desired).
