The Network Security Engineer role is a junior position. You will be responsible for many services that are managed and owned by Verizon's gateway services. You will be monitoring, managing, and advising customers on the products and services that Verizon offers. This will include configuring devices to meet customer requests and expectations, ensuring that we are following IRAP and security protocols, and providing a 99.99% availability in the gateway to our customers.
This role is a shift position. You will be working 12hr shifts day/night similar to 5 days on, 5 days off rostering. Your day-to-day tasks will be to: Configure routers, switches, firewalls, proxies, DNS servers, and load balancers.Handle customer phone calls, triage, and troubleshoot when required.Monitor all of the gateway services and investigate any alerts, outages, or issues with the assistance of Senior engineers.Be trained in the gateway environment for our federal government and defense clients.Update procedures and processes when required.Manage internal and external escalations and communications.Watch and action the service desk inbox.Manage and action the ticket queues ensuring they are always updated within 48 hrs.Handle customer phone calls daily.Must have: Baseline clearance (prefer NV1).Eagerness to learn.Good work ethics.Ability to work well in a team.Good customer communication skills.If interested, APPLY NOW!
