The Company Our client is an ASX-listed major industry player based in the CBD. Due to the demand from ongoing projects, they are looking for an experienced individual to join their business on a contract to work in an operational technology focused role.
The Role This position will be responsible for providing technical support to ensure the functionality, maintenance, and integrity of all process control network systems and infrastructure within the operations environment.
Ideal candidates should have relevant experience in Operational Technology, Network Management, and Operations and IT Infrastructure with core knowledge of cyber security, networking (experience in Industrial Switches will be a plus). Experience in Operational Technology (OT) and Process Control Network (PCN) with Oil & Gas operations will be vital for this position.
Responsibilities Design and oversee complex network configurations from proposal to completion, focusing on improving reliability to enhance production or operational efficiency.Collaborate with relevant key stakeholders to ensure effective, reliable, and secure communication between control systems.Serve as the operations focal point for specialist network communication configuration and troubleshooting.Coordinate with contractors to ensure the development and review of fit-for-purpose designs.Assist the maintenance and reliability teams in establishing maintenance strategies, and review/approve engineering contractor design documents, studies, and specifications.Provide technical support for telecom service contracts and work with demand managers to maximize contract value.Support the implementation of network solution architecture, network monitoring, systems integration, and the design and delivery of communication systems to ensure the safe and effective operation.Provide on-call support outside of normal working hours, as needed.Requirements You will be an experienced engineer, ideally with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field with 5 years of relevant experience in the energy industry.
It is expected that you can demonstrate significant experience working in an operational technology role with high-level expertise working with Process Control Networks (PCN) in resources sector companies. Additionally, the following experiences will be vital:
Extensive experience in network configuration and deployment within oil and gas operations, maintenance, and projects.Experience with the full project life cycle, from concept development through execution and operation, with an understanding of factors impacting total cost of ownership.Over 5 years of combined experience in systems design, in-house engineering, field delivery, commissioning, maintenance, and full project lifecycle completion across varying technical complexities and scales.In-depth expertise in configuring network switches, firewalls, routers (Dual MPLS Nodes), system network architecture, VPN, and PCN networks.Strong knowledge of core networking protocols (IP, routing protocols, switching protocols) and infrastructure troubleshooting.Proficiency in administering network management servers (ESXi host, VMware, MS Server).Experience in installing and configuring Network Management Systems such as SolarWinds, GE Pulsenet, etc.Skilled in LAN and WAN configuration and management.High-level understanding of gas production, LNG processes, third-party system integration, and familiarity with telecom and networking systems using major vendors and protocols.Direct experience with major oil & gas companies in well production, processing, field compression, transmission, and storage facilities.End-user and customer experience in engineering organizations within the oil & gas and power generation industries.Knowledge of compliance regulations from local and state authorities.Strong ability to work effectively within multi-functional teams and interface with diverse internal and external stakeholders across various locations.Please apply through the link or send your CV to ******.
