What you'll do: Liaise on routine and reactive activities with key stakeholders including System Control/Dispatch, Civil Maintenance, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance, and the Call Centre. Prepare ad-hoc and routine reports as required. Investigate options and prepare project briefs/specifications to rectify operational or asset issues, in order to satisfy Hunter Water's Operating Licence and other regulatory requirements. Develop and present system familiarity, training, and information sessions. Participate in the WNO triage roster to handle operational issues and routine enquiries (this role is rotated throughout the team). Develop and improve Water Operations documentation including but not limited to operational procedures, system alignment procedures, and complex shutdown plans and contingency and business continuity plans. This role may be required to undertake duties in an after-hours roster, or provide management coverage after hours, during weekends or public holidays, or Hunter Water shutdown periods, with notice and consultation where possible. What you'll need to be successful: Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or an equivalent related discipline. Demonstrated experience working in a science or engineering position. Class C driver's licence. Demonstrated high level communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the focus and desire to build effective working relationships. Ability to deliver a consistent and high level of customer service. Highly developed organisational and time management skills, demonstrated through the ability to manage conflicting priorities whilst delivering on key milestones. High level understanding of the operation of potable water and dual reticulation networks. General understanding of water quality parameters. Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise information technology, including computerised control & monitoring systems (e.g. SCADA), geographical information systems, incident management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, and engineering plans & drawings. Experience in hydraulic modelling. Experience in the function and layout of potable and recycled water networks. Experience working within an Asset Management Framework. Experience in Incident Management and Response including working in or leading Incident Management Teams.
