Role Overview The Network and Operational Technology Manager plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the organisation's network infrastructure. The Network and Operational Technology Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the network, as well as leading network projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring engineers.
Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage network engineers and operational technology staff; Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable network solutions that meet business needs; Continuously monitor and maintain network systems for optimal performance, addressing issues proactively; Perform regular network upgrades to enhance efficiency, capacity, and security, ensuring compliance with security policies; Collaborate with the Cyber Security team to strengthen network security and protect against threats; and Provide advanced technical support, resolve incidents, and maintain network documentation while managing vendor relationships and internal collaboration. About you Your skills and experience will include;
Bachelor of Information Technology or equivalent level of skills and experience gained through experience; Significant technical experience in network engineering, particularly in Operational Technology environments (industrial/mining/energy/maritime industries); Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise-scale networks, including network segmentation, redundancy, and failover strategies; Proficient in networking hardware, Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), and network security (firewalls, VPNs, NAC, IDS/IPS); Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, network virtualisation (SDN), wireless technologies (5G, LTE), and cloud networking (AWS, Azure); ITIL/ITSM knowledge, relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), and a commitment to continuous learning in new technologies and solutions.
