In this role, you'll:
Be contributing to the transformation of the transport sector towards a greener and more sustainable future.
 
You would be actively participating in shaping policies and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy adoption, and enhance the overall environmental performance of the transport network.

Play a critical role in determining key operational objectives within the limits of the appropriate delegated authority and be accountable for the quality, integrity and validity of the service provided.

Advise, inform and support senior management with coordinating the customer experience and project resources across regional project work sites, planned events and unplanned incidents within regional project boundaries

Minimise conflict and advocate a collaborative response to manage disruption impacts to ensure quick restoration of network capacity

Assess regional project proposals and work activities to ensure a customer-focused approach is applied and activities comply with legislation, guidelines and standards, including the application of best practice network management.

This is a fixed term full time role until 31 Jan 2026 and is based at Newcastle with flexible work practices. Candidates from regional or Sydney metro areas are encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated experience in road network operations management, including management of major and/or minor works, managing risks and issues associated with access and mobility on the network. Demonstrated ability to apply project management and business principles in the allocated tasks to achieve effective customer-focused outcomes. Willingness to fulfill the role of authorised officer under the relevant provisions of The Roads Act 1993. Willingness and ability to be on-call, work outside normal business hours, and travel across the NSW State and regional network to attend meetings to assist with operational planning or coordinate responses to planned and unplanned events/incidents. Possess a current motor vehicle driver's license. The role requires security and criminal clearance prior to appointment.
Knowledge or understanding of OSOM operations or Road Operations Management will be highly desirable.
