We are looking for three network engineers to support an expanding IT services business in Fyshwick, Canberra The System and Network Engineer's  responsibilities include: Administration of system, network and related storage infrastructure;Install, upgrade and patch virtual machines and physical servers;Manage all aspects of hardware and software installation, configuration and administration, including planning and documentation;Conduct technical evaluations on new and proposed infrastructure solutions;Document software and hardware issues for escalation;Provide technical evaluations and advice to external parties; Provide end user services and support;  Provide technical services for cloud and hosted services infrastructure;Use the helpdesk system to manage and track service requests;Maintain security standards and policies across all infrastructure;Participate in stress testing, capacity planning and usage trending;Participate in the change management process;Proactively identify and participate in continuous improvement activities;Update inventories, providing technical and end user documentation as required;The right candidate for the role will have the following skills and experience: Comprehensive Linux system administration experience using distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, SuSE/SLES or RedHat;Experience with networking technologies, both within the data-centre and the wide-area;Experience with routing and switching hardware, network protocols, software and hardware firewalls;Experience with data storage for systems and data transfer between wide-spread geographical sites;Experience using system orchestration tools such as Puppet and Ansible;Strong scripting skills using Python/Perl/Bash etc;Strong experience in troubleshooting and resolving  technical problems;Additional skills and experience which will be beneficial: An understanding of or exposure to virtualisation technologies such as KVM, XEN, VMWARE, AWS, GCP;Administration of encryption technologies such as PKI, SSL, VPN; LDAP server and client administration;Familiarity with MediaFlux, FreshService, Jira, Confluence, Zabbix, Nagios;Knowledge of Google Workspace administration;Data protection software and disaster recovery/business continuity experience;Demonstrated working experience with large enterprise multi-vendor supported environments;Familiarity with ICT Infrastructure related best practices and standards such as ITIL and ISO etc.;Experience in providing end user support;A base level or NV1 security clearance will be an advantage.
