Respect Trust AgilityHumility The Senior Network Engineer will be tasked by the Project Manager to be responsible for the design, build and commissioning of network solutions. The Senior Network Engineer will elicit and analyse user requirements through a variety of means (formal meetings, informal discussion etc.) to lead the design & build of network solutions.
The Senior Network Engineer will ensure the selection of technology and design of network topology meets the required parameters for network connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security, and access. The Senior Network Engineer will then lead implementation of the approved design.
The Senior Network Engineer is highly competent in the configuration, operation & maintenance of networking hardware and infrastructure. This includes CCNA, CCNP and expertise across the CISCO range.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESDesigning and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.Procuring network equipment and managing relationships with vendors.Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.Reporting network status to key stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS Essential QualificationsTertiary qualifications in a related discipline or relevant experienceCISCO CCNA & CCNP certificationsHold and maintain a TSPV security clearanceExperience within a Defence environmentProven experience as a Network Engineer Desirable QualificationsPost-graduate qualification in a related technical disciplineNetwork architecture designExperience with cloud networkingExperience with software designed networkingExperience with ICT Projects>10 years' experience in a technical disciplinePERSONAL QUALITIESStrong customer relationship skillsFocused and results orientated, driven by excellenceConfident in coaching and mentoring small teamsEffective communicator, both written and oral, at all levelsAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
