Network Administrator Canberra ACTAbout the opportunityThe Network Administrator reports to the Network Team Leader and is part of a team responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to deliver network solutions that align with CASA's strategic requirements. The role works closely with the wider Information Technology branch to deliver and support network services to CASA and our external customers.As the role supports critical network operations, there is occasional out-of-hours work and a rostered on-call component to support CASA's day-to-day business needs. In addition to network and network security-focused activities, this role is responsible for supporting ICT facilities oversight such as data centres and physical cabling within CASA offices. This position plays a key role, in conjunction with the CASA Property team, during office refit, uplift, and relocation activities.The Network Administrator is responsible for the following deliverables:Assisting with the support, troubleshooting, and uplift of CASA network services.Contributing to the planning and execution of new projects/initiatives, including transition into operations.Preparing submissions to the Change Advisory Board and other governance forums.Organising and prioritising work in alignment with the Network Operations team workplan.Monitoring work queues to ensure incidents and requests are actioned in line with service level agreements.Ensuring documentation and standard operating procedures are maintained and updated.Contributing to continual service improvement within the Network Operations team.Supporting the Network Team Leader during planning and execution of office uplift and/or relocation activities.Participating in on-call rosters and being available for after-hours work when needed.Working supportively and cooperatively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes.Performing other duties as required. The key duties of the position include: Our ideal candidateOur ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:At least 5 years of network security experience (firewalls).Experience in the design, configuration, and operation of ICT networking and communications equipment.Experience in the use of network monitoring and control systems.Microsoft Azure Infrastructure experience is highly desirable.Experience in the design, configuration, and operation of network security systems (firewalls and/or Web Access Firewalls). Preference will be given to candidates with Forti Gate firewall experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and technical documentation (essential).Ability to work cooperatively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Highly developed written and oral communication skills, particularly in discussing technical matters with non-technical people.Experience in delivery, support, and service improvement in the following technical areas:HP and/or Cisco routing and switching.Forti Gate or similar firewall, networking, and wireless devices.Web Access Firewalls (WAFs).Microsoft Azure Networking.Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful, and equitable manner.Promotion of workplace safety, equity, and diversity, and acting in accordance with CASA Values and Behaviours.Eligibility requirementsEmployment with CASA is subject to conditions prescribed within the Civil Aviation Act 1988.
