Part-time, casual, required for Lent (Spring) Term 2025THE PREPARATORY SCHOOLIpswich Preparatory School, for pupils aged 5 –11, is the primary aged stage of Ipswich School. There are two classes per year group, Reception to Year 6, and a day care nursery (The Lodge), which caters for some 100 children aged 3 months to the time the children join Reception.The most recent Inspection of the Preparatory School (September 2022), rated us as Excellent in all categories. The School operates a 5-day week, with most representative sports played during the week, but with some fixtures and tours on Saturdays.This is an exciting opportunity to coach at one of the country's leading sports schools, and to utilise the superb facilities we offer. Our facilities include six hardcourt netball courts at our Ipswich School Sports Centre (ISSC) in Rushmere St Andrew, astroturf pitches at Westwood and Notcutts (which are in easy walking distance of the School), and facilities at the Prep School itself.THE ROLEWe are seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Netball Coach for the Lent (Spring) Term 2025, working between January and April.You will be based primarily in the Upper Prep School, coaching Years 5 to 6, working under our Head of Girls' Games. During the Lent (Spring) Term you will be coaching on Monday and Wednesday afternoons between 1:30 and 3:30pm as required.Our pupils play fixtures on Wednesday afternoons and you will be required to coach and umpire teams as directed by the Head of Girls' Games, working additional hours at these times as necessary. Your hours of work may vary from time to time according to the coaching and fixtures timetable.You should be suitably qualified (ideally with a minimum level 2 coaching qualification and umpiring experience).HOURS OF WORK, PAY AND BENEFITSThe hourly rate of pay for coaching work is £22.65 per hour, for a suitably qualified (level 2) coach, plus holiday pay.The actual working hours in the 2024-25 academic year are in the Lent term – Monday and Wednesday afternoon 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm (plus additional hours on a Wednesday when we have fixtures).There may be opportunities for additional coaching work beyond the Lent term but this is subject to the requirements of the Prep School and is not guaranteed.Staff are able to use the School's swimming pool and fitness suite free of charge (in compliance with appropriate rules and regulations).
