Our client, a prominent player in the mining industry, is seeking a skilled NetApps/Commvault Specialist to join their team in Perth on a contract through June 2025. This is a key role for a proactive professional who can manage large-scale, multi-domain storage and backup environments effectively.
Key Responsibilities Commvault Administration: Set up, configure, and maintain Commvault backup systems across Windows, VMware, and Linux environments, ensuring seamless integration with hypervisors and storage platforms. Manage secondary and tertiary data copies and implement data aging processes.NetApp Storage Solutions: Design, implement, and support NetApp FAS-based storage systems in a multi-tenant setup. Apply data replication, high availability, and use of CIFS, NFS, and iSCSI protocols to maintain robust storage infrastructures.Systems Administration: Oversee enterprise-level storage (SAN, NAS) and physical/virtual server environments, implementing best practices in backup, recovery, and data storage.Disaster Recovery: Develop, test, and validate disaster recovery plans in line with organisational policies, ensuring readiness in critical scenarios.Virtualization and Cloud Integration: Provide support for virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV) and Cisco UCS hardware. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or AWS is advantageous.Networking Knowledge: Apply a solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including firewall considerations in secure data environments.Requirements Experience:5+ years with Commvault in large-scale environments, including setup, integration, and data management.5+ years with NetApp solutions, focusing on FAS-based storage, data replication, and multi-tenant architectures.3+ years in operational systems administration, covering enterprise-level physical and virtual environments.Technical Skills: Strong grasp of backup and recovery strategies, data storage principles, and disaster recovery best practices.Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Commvault Certified Professional, NetApp Certified Data Administrator) are highly desirable.Skills Exceptional customer service orientation.Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.If you're ready to contribute your expertise in a dynamic mining environment and bring value to critical IT operations, we encourage you to apply!
