NES Fircroft are partnering with a global resources client who are looking for a SPECIALIST PROCESS ENGINEER to join the Perth based team on a 12 month contract.

The Role:
Perth based role Monday to Friday 8 hours per day (occasional on site travel).

As the Specialist Process Engineer, you will apply technical engineering expertise through the development and embedment of engineering strategies, standards and frameworks that ensure the process and design is optimised to enable safe, efficient and effective construction, commissioning and operation of facilities and infrastructure throughout its lifecycle.

Reporting to the Manager Standards and Technical, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Develop discipline engineering deliverables and supply technical input within project milestones and delivery dates to support project requirements and notify the Engineering Manager early of technical risks and impact to schedule and budget to minimise effects to the project.
Support the development of project discipline engineering strategy and develop project engineering standards and processes.
Engage in detailed design and engineering work and execute technical project deliverables.
Actively identify and drive implementation of improvement initiatives to increase capital efficiency, productivity and safety.
Identify the appropriate engineering standards for a project scope to drive lean, fit for purpose and safe design.
Establish a relationship with engineering consultants which is based on a professional level of technical challenge to drive lean and fit for purpose design without jeopardizing project progress.
Develop and manage metallurgical testwork programs at pilot and bench scale.
Engage in field leadership safety initiatives as part of the BHP safety culture.
The Requirements:
Ideally you will have:
Tertiary qualification within fields such as Engineering Science, Metallurgical, Chemical or Mineral Processing Engineering.
Project design experience within the consulting, mining or heavy industry working for owners/operators and/or engineering consultancies.
Significant technical proficiency across process engineering discipline across lifecycle (study, design, installation, commissioning, operation).
Proven experience in Iron Ore processing plants including design, interpretation of test work results, plant layouts, process design criteria, trade-off studies and developing process flow diagrams.
Experience in planning, developing and managing metallurgical test work programs of significant scale.
Demonstrated commercial acumen as well as managing technical risk and governance for successful delivery of projects safely, on time and on budget.
