About Us
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Disability Services team provides a range of services to NDIS participants in SEQ, encompassing Coordination of the NDIS plan, Allied therapies, and advocacy support. The unit fosters a holistic approach to improve access for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to comprehensive health services and clinical programs.
About the Role
As a new graduate Occupational Therapist within the disability services team, you will provide culturally appropriate services as part of a multi-disciplinary team to participants of the NDIS. Our services are provided within a system of care that supports clients in their health journey.
Responsibilities include:
Developing both Adult and Paediatric skills by maintaining a diverse caseload across the lifespan, with opportunities to specialise. Working collaboratively within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including Speech Pathologists, Physios, EPs, Paed Nurses, GPs, AHWs, and Paediatricians. Providing services in various settings such as primary health care clinics, kindergartens, and community settings. Contributing to innovative health service development. Committing to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health. Mandatory Requirements

Current Yellow Card – Disability Worker Screening Clearance (Prior to Commencement) Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) AHPRA Registration Relevant degree in Occupational Therapy Current First Aid & CPR Certificates (Willingness to obtain) Current criminal history check (willingness to obtain) Desirable, but not mandatory:
