Job Description The Senior Performance Test Engineer will ensure the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of mainframe applications integrated with multiple systems, including cloud-based platforms. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks early in the development lifecycle, working collaboratively with performance testing teams to optimize both infrastructure and code. Additionally, the role involves capacity planning to support system growth and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
As a Senior Performance Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of mainframe applications that integrate with multiple systems, including cloud-based platforms. You will:
Collaborate closely with performance testing teams to analyze and optimize both infrastructure and code, proactively identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks early in the development lifecycle. Design and execute performance testing strategies for mainframe systems and their integrated workflows, leveraging tools like LoadRunner and JMeter. Conduct capacity planning to forecast and accommodate future system demands, ensuring scalability and reliability. Work across cross-functional teams to act as a bridge between mainframe and cloud environments to resolve integration-related performance challenges. Automate performance testing processes and provide detailed performance reports with actionable insights to contribute to continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications Strong experience in performance engineering for mainframe applications, with proficiency in:
COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools for performance testing and integration. Hands-on experience with tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, OMEGAMON, and similar frameworks. Proven ability to identify and address performance issues early in the development lifecycle. Experience in forecasting infrastructure needs and supporting capacity planning initiatives. Ability to work effectively across teams, bridging gaps between mainframe and cloud environments.
