Description of Work: This position serves as the Ferry Division's Deputy Director of Support Services, overseeing the business operations of the Ferry Division. Core duties include administration of the annual operating budget, compliance in legal, financial, and technical capacities, and adherence to state and federally mandated procedures for all state and federal funds. The position acts as a key internal resource in understanding and communicating state and federal authoritative guidance and serves as an intermediary between federal agencies, state agencies, and other regulatory bodies.
Duties include but are not limited to: Budgetary funds oversight Oversight of the Federal grant application processes Contract management and oversight Oversight of internal/external audits Process improvement and operational innovations to streamline work and improve efficiency and effectiveness The successful applicant may be compensated for moving expenses.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies: Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
Ability to interpret state and federal authoritative guidance and compliance regulations related to transportation. Experience managing projects, programs, staff, and consultants. Experience serving as a technical advisor to internal and external partners. Experience communicating with diverse audiences in oral and written format. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a variety of customers and stakeholders. Knowledge of governmental budget and business practices, systems, tools, and laws/policies. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Master's degree in business administration, public administration, or related discipline and three years of progressive administrative experience, including supervising, planning, and managing a business or governmental program; or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and five years of progressive administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
