Due to the nature of the project, we have multiple engineering vacancies available from Intermediate - Senior Naval Architects.
As a Naval Architect, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and construction of various types of vessels and marine structures.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
It is an essential requirement to have Australian citizenship and a minimum NV1 security clearance due to the nature of the defence projects we are recruiting for or have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop plans for new vessels, including hull form, stability, and structural design.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations of marine vessels.
Use advanced software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, ShipConstructor, or similar) to create detailed models and technical drawings.
Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform stability, hydrodynamic, and structural analyses to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and classification society standards.
Coordinate with other departments and external stakeholders, including shipyards and suppliers, to facilitate the construction and delivery of vessels.
Prepare and review technical specifications, reports, and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree - Engineering (Mechanical/Naval Architect/Aeronautical) Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 Understanding of ship structural designs.
Familiarity and experience in ship systems design and its impact upon integration.
Proficiency in naval architecture software.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Australian Citizenship: Due to the nature of the project, applicants must be Australian citizens.
Experience in the Defence or Naval sector is highly regarded.
