Position Description
You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Commanding Officer Facility and Infrastructure Management Department and Production Planning Division (6.3.1) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
The incumbent will serve as a professional Mechanical Engineer performing duties pertaining to facilities engineering and engineering management.
The duty location of this position is Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
You will engage in designing and/or planning substantial renovation, improvement and new construction projects for real property facilities and installation of industrial plant, process and automated test equipment.
You will evaluate/design corrective action for property facility, mechanical utility and system deficiencies reported through NAVOSH deficiency notices, environmental compliance notices, and energy conservation reports to correct the deficiencies.
You will provide technical direction and engineering disposition to the various FRCSW Command Maintenance Control Centers responsible for Real Property Facility and Equipment maintenance and repair.
You will maintain current mechanical engineering data for assigned projects.
You will manage and/or monitor projects for renovation, improvement and new construction of real property mechanical systems and utilities using professional knowledge of mechanical engineering.
You will adapt precedents or make significant departures from previous approaches to similar projects in order to provide for specialized requirements of some projects.
