About our Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced National Sales Manager to provide operational leadership to our National Retail Operations Team, to ensure our Customer and business goals are achieved.
Based at our Head Office in Mentone and reporting to our Senior Director – Retail ANZ, you will ensure consistent profitable growth in national sales across all key target customer segments through structured planning, systems and processes. Strong and experienced leadership of large mobile teams across Australia is key to this role, as you will manage and mentor the Retail Sales team and indirectly a larger field team.
What will you do The role will be varied and diverse and include, but not be limited to the below:
Provide strategic leadership for the National Retail Field Operations Channel across Woolworths, Coles and Independents Develop and execute key customer plans Coach, support and develop State Field Managers to continually increase capability to achieve best practice execution from the team of State Sales Representatives nationally Develop capability, drive accountability and foster ambition in the team, to ensure the achievement or overachievement of budgets and targets Foster cross-functional communication across all operating divisions promoting the exchange of information to achieve a "one team" mindset Drive robust business recommendations and changes to improve sales profitability Manage key National Operations customer relationships to foster customer alignment Develop influential relationships with the Customer and champion the voice across the business Utilise data and insights to continually create more value for our customers Work with Senior Leadership teams, and be comfortable with having a voice with senior peers and Stakeholders Manage the retail customer account budget within trade spend guidelines and account fixed selling expenses Manage product mix to achieve required financial targets and identify opportunities for savings in trade spend Build and manage internal/external partnerships to ensure delivery of the Retail Account strategic objectives Accountable to manage customer expectations in alignment with Commercial and strategic objectives Manage and monitor the overall systems used in the field, ensuring that we upgrade where required About you To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry. You will demonstrate a solid understanding of Coles and Woolworths Merchandising and Retail Store Operations. You will have several years' experience in a leadership role managing large teams and enjoy leading high performing teams.
You will be an experienced Sales Leader with a strong track record of delivering exceptional ROI Substantial experience in Sales, including managing national retail accounts, including Coles and Woolworths Extensive experience leading a Field Team who support our Independent retail channel Proven leadership of a high performing national sales team Commercial Acumen - Ability to understand and analyse detailed financial information and reports Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritise, and articulate highest impact initiatives Ability to engage, present, and influence at a senior level (both internally and externally) Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills You are enthused about achieving targets that deliver the best to our Customer and are a seasoned leader who can drive team members to excel Experienced in managing and monitoring systems that enable our people to complete their role effectively and efficiently, and providing measures and insights on what we achieve Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Sales systems, including Sales Force Ability to travel interstate If this sounds like you, then please apply online now!
