What does the job look like? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Safety & Compliance Manager to join our team where you will lead the safety and compliance strategy for our valued customer, overseeing both Transport and Warehouse contracts within our Retail Business Unit.
In this key role you will drive the implementation of strategic safety projects, enhance compliance standards, and provide critical support to operational leaders in managing incidents in line with their legislative obligations. Empower our senior leaders to demonstrate outstanding safety leadership, offering coaching, mentorship, and strategic direction to shape their approach to safety management.
To succeed in this role, you must have a strong understanding of behavioral safety techniques and the ability to foster a safety-driven culture at an operational level. Key areas
Actively promote and support Linfox's safety evolution journey, strengthening our safety culture with an emphasis on care, trust, and inclusion Collaborate with the senior leadership team to plan, develop, and execute the Safety, Health & Compliance (SH&C) strategic plan Analyse business unit-level data to identify opportunities for safety and compliance improvement, and design targeted programs to drive positive change Report and present on safety performance, trends, and outcomes to key stakeholders Lead serious incident investigations, focusing on learning and implementing effective risk controls Conduct governance activities, including audits and performance reporting against WHS standards Engage with customers to share insights and updates on safety and compliance activities within the business unit Are you the one? You are a proactive and experienced safety leader with a strong background in safety and compliance within transport, logistics, or supply chain industries. Your ability to influence and mentor senior leaders sets you apart, as does your expertise in implementing strategic safety initiatives across multiple sites. You thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments and possess a deep understanding of behavioral safety techniques, compliance regulations, and risk management. You can demonstrate:
Proven experience as a WHS Manager in the transport, logistics, or heavy vehicle industry Strong knowledge of NHVR, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), Mass Management, Load Restraint and Fatigue Management regulations Degree or Diploma qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is essential Extensive understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth) and associated regulations Expertise in auditing safety management systems Strong ability to influence and engage stakeholders to drive safety results Solid experience in conducting thorough incident investigations Practical knowledge and application of risk assessment practices At Linfox, we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace where people can perform at their best.
