We truly partner with our clients to provide the best possible staffing solutions for their business.Our client is a leading bulk transport and logistics provider based in the western suburbs, specialising in general and express freight Australia-Wide.THE ROLEAs the National Safety, Compliance & Training Manager, you will improve and maintain the CoR and CoR management systems, co-ordinate auditing, establish training needs, enforce and maintain safety and compliance standards and develop solutions for compliance, safety and training needs across the business.The position is responsible for overseeing and streamlining business systems and processes and will work closely with external stakeholders and regulatory authorities, as well as internal stakeholders such as national managers to tailor business focused processes which align with legislative requirements.This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Chain of Responsibility, NHVR and Occupational Health and Safety.RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor, manage and report on developments relating to legislative and regulatory obligations.Provide information, advice and support to the management team to assist them in maintaining compliance with business obligations under OH&S, Heavy Vehicle National Law and other associated regulations and codes of practice.Develop and maintain policies and procedures.Co-ordinate Annual NHVR Audit.Prepare internal stakeholders for external and internal company audits.Oversee incident reporting and manage corrective action.Manage NHVAS compliance.Work with HR to monitor and manage Mass Management and Basic Fatigue Management (BFM).Participate in the processing of claims and liaise with insurance and legal officers when required.Coordinate, validate and verify activities outlined by NHVR, HACCP and PBS are being performed within all areas of the business.Develop and maintain Compliance Audit Tool to consistently manage NHVR compliance requirements nationally.Establish training requirements for the business.Facilitate training programs.Develop and train staff where required.Attend compulsory training.Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the workplace.Carry out safety audits and work with managers to conduct toolbox meetings with staff.Ensure that emergency procedures are in place and updated regularly, and workers are trained in emergency response protocols.Continually drive and develop policy, compliance standards, comprehensive monitoring and stringent enforcement of safety and compliance policies and procedures.THE IDEAL CANDIDATEAbility to effectively manage time, to set priorities and plan and manage own work.Ability to effectively lead and manage team members and delegate duties as required.Capacity to operate autonomously and contribute to team objective.Ability to conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback and identify and close performance gaps for direct reports.Ability to manage conflict with internal and external staff and customers.Ability to develop and train staff.Ability to manage and facilitate difficult situations.Qualification in safety and compliance - highly desirable.Minimum 5-10 years experience in transport & logistics industry.Experience with CoR, NHVR, Dangerous Goods and fatigue management.If your skills and experience meets the above criteria, please APPLY NOW.
