The NIAA has an exciting and unique opportunity for an EL2, Director in Rockhampton. The role will work in close and genuine partnership with First Nations people and communities throughout Central Queensland to positively influence improved Closing the Gap outcomes.
The job will lead and shape relationships with key partners in Indigenous communities, the Commonwealth, State Governments and private enterprise to deliver Government priorities aligned to community aspirations. The role works with a considerable degree of independence, under broad direction of the Regional Manager and has a key responsibility to manage, support and develop staff within their team.
You will be part of a regional team and report directly to the Regional Manager providing strategic support, leadership and advise. Working in place and partnership is at the core of our work and this position requires a strong level of engagement.
The role is responsible for:
furthering development and implementation of strategies and projects that will have a positive impact on Closing the Gap targets under the Commonwealth Closing the Gap Implementation Plan,facilitating engagement, brokering collaboration and building effective partnerships with partners, communities and key internal and external stakeholders,contributing to strategic plans and lead the development of business cases and project plans for new initiatives,maintaining an awareness of research, trends, developments and reforms, at both State and National levels, on issues affecting Indigenous people.Please note: interviews for this role will be conducted in the week commencing 16 December 2024.
