The Role
We are looking for an experienced National Import Sea Coordinator to join our Ocean Freight team based in Melbourne. In this position you will ensure timely and accurate processing of ocean freight import shipments to meet both business and client specific KPI's.
The key result areas you will achieve are to contribute to strategic goals by effectively managing daily routines and adapting to changing priorities and customer needs. Identify and recommend innovations to improve work practices, equipment, or systems, enhancing service offerings and driving growth. Execute core operational tasks with significant judgment in non-standard situations to ensure safety, efficiency, and top-tier customer service. Proactively manage process hand-offs to maximize profitability and quality results. Listen to customers to understand their broader needs and perspectives on service quality, making decisions that not only meet direct needs but also enhance overall service.
A day in the life of a National Import Sea Coordinator at Toll Group:
Register and validate shipments.
Ensure origin compliance and manage documents.
Oversee transhipment management and compliance.
Handle sea cargo reporting and delivery order management.
Raise invoices and manage forwarding-related costs.
Review compliance of forwarding documents like arrival notices and outturn reports.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Experience in the Shipping /Freight Forwarding industry (ideally within a similar role).
Computer literate with strong client focus and service ethic.
Methodical, organised, and detail-oriented, with knowledge of freight forwarding (preferred).
Understanding of business concepts, organisational knowledge, and profitability.
Results-oriented, resilient, with strong analytical and commercial focus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially listening.
Team player with a natural tendency towards collaboration and influencing others.
You must be entitled to work in Australia and be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical.
