This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and mentor 5 state OHS BP's and apply your experience in the design, development and implemention of the SMS.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of five Health and Safety Business Partners, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
Develop and implement health and safety policies and programs tailored to the Australian rail sector.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses. Provide strategic guidance on risk mitigation strategies and controls.
Coordinate safety training programs for employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Develop corrective actions and compile detailed incident reports.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and industry standards. Manage reporting to ONRSR within allocated timeframes.
Conduct annual internal audits at each site, identify areas of non-compliance, and develop corrective action plans.
Analyse safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Certificate 4 in Health and Safety.
Desirable: Graduate certificate in Health and Safety, formal investigation training.
Proven leadership experience with a track record of fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Demonstrated ability to conduct safety audits, lead compliance efforts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Thorough understanding of Australian regulations and standards, including those set by ONRSR and Safe Work Australia.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Office 365.
