This role is open to both full-time and part-time candidates, with flexible job share opportunities available for the right applicant. The NHVR has corporate offices and regional hubs nationwide, and this role can be based at any of these locations, including at the NHVR's beautifully designed, new corporate head office at Newstead Brisbane, which has access to excellent end-of-trip facilities and public transport options, with a free shuttle bus running between Bowen Hills train station and Newstead.
We are looking for a skilled lawyer with 5+ years of post-admission experience (PAE) and a strong background in technology law, particularly in privacy, data, technology and intellectual property (IP). If you are interested in broadening your legal skills into other practice areas, please let us know. The NHVR would also love to support you to do this and can offer you the opportunity to branch out into other areas including property, commercial, and insurance matters, while continuously developing and expanding your existing legal knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal support to NHVR's Procurement and Data & Technology teams
Draft, advise on, and negotiate technology contracts, data sharing agreements and confidentiality agreements
Provide advice on IT procurement, outsourcing and compliance with data and privacy legislation
Advise on intellectual property protection and management in Australia
Contribute to continuous improvement of the NHVR's IP Framework
Offer strategic advice to ensure effective management of legal risks
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
5+ years of post-admission experience (PAE) as a legal practitioner specialising in technology, privacy and intellectual property law
Admission as a legal practitioner to the High Court or Supreme Court of a State or Territory
In-house experience in property law, commercial law and/or insurance is desirable but not essential
