The Opportunity
In this nationally focused role, you will report to the General Manager of Safety Health Quality and Training (SHQT) and provide health and safety leadership to your direct reports, operational leaders, and customers in the industrial and energy sectors.
You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer of the Industrial Services and Energy line of business and their management teams on SHQT related matters, align to the SHQT strategy, and promote safety excellence and performance through engagement, training, investigation, audit, and continuous improvement.
You will be an important member of Veolia's SHQT leadership team with peers supporting our waste, Water, and NZ Lines of business plus Injury Prevention and Health and SHQT Strategy and Improvement.

What you'll be responsible for Provide leadership and direction to ensure SHQT compliance and performance across the Line of Business.Implement and monitor SHQT systems, including field engagement, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.Facilitate the maintenance of SHQT management plans, training programs, and safety procedures.Facilitate incident investigations and emergency management training.Lead our Always Safe Culture program within the Line of Business.Analyse and report on SHQT performance, identifying high-risk factors and improvement opportunities. What you'll need to be successful
Operational Industrial Services experience with a focus on high-risk activities such as high-pressure water jetting, confined spaces, and working at height is essential.
Knowledge of OH&S regulations with qualifications is essential.
Demonstrated experience implementing safety systems.
Auditing qualification and experience.
Root cause analysis investigations (ICAM).
Problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
Advanced communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to prepare reports and documentation efficiently.
