ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is a well-established business that is not only a market leader in their field but has the backing of an enormous global corporation.With an ever-expanding footprint, they are passionate, customer-focused, respectful, innovative, and action-oriented people who, for over 40 years, have designed and delivered exceptional products, maintaining a position at the forefront of market-leading design.ABOUT THE ROLE In this newly created position, the National Distribution Manager will be the critical link between the national warehouse footprint and the head office based in Melbourne.The position will lead a team of 6 direct and 22 indirect reports, taking control of an 18,000 sq/m facility in Melbourne along with locations across Australia and NZ.The position is responsible for the overall warehouse operations, developing process efficiencies, identifying continuous improvements/projects, and leading the way in safety.Leading and creating a positive culture, refining SOPs, developing reporting metrics, and vendor relationships are at the top of the project list.Experience in these areas is essential; previous experience working on a national profile is imperative.DUTIES • Manage the Distribution Centre Operations on a national scale • Support, guide, mentor and train direct report managers with continuous improvement initiatives • Ensure all policies and procedures are updated, maintained and delivered to staff • Achieve and exceed operational, strategic planning and budget forecasting targets • Work closely with key external suppliers to ensure the best service and rates are achieved SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Demonstrated experience managing a Distribution Centre on a national footprint, including warehouse, administration and transport operations • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement project success • Sound knowledge of current WHS responsibilities with the ability to update and roll out safety programs • Exposure to developing and improving SOP & KPI programs • Experience negotiating and maintaining supplier contracts to ensure optimal service standards are met COMPANY CULTURE The company supports individuals and encourages personal development and growth for all their employees.Every team member is valued and crucial to their success.BENEFITS • Work on a national profile; travel will be required • Drive a positive culture, set up processes and future plans within the warehouse operations • Opportunity to grow with the business To apply online please click on the appropriate link and send your resume in WORD format.Alternatively, for a confidential discussion please contact Andrew Bennett 0409 137 399.
