ABOUT THE ROLE
The National School of Education is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Theology. The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Education delivers practical, ethical and industry-focused teacher education, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.
This position reports to the National Head of School and involves leadership in the National School of Education and ongoing support for the operations of the School , including teaching, research and service/engagement. The Deputy Head of School acts for the National Head of School from time to time when the NHOS is absent. The Deputy Head of School has particular responsibility for leadership and management on the Fremantle campus of the university.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership of the implementation of the School's courses and programs at the campus and nationally including contributing to quality assurance and achievement of targets. Contribution to the performance of the School in relation to Learning & Teaching and Research. Management of the School's campus budget allocation and contribution to the financial management of the National School through relevant financial delegation. Management of staff of the school who are located on their campus in the context of University delegation, including supervision, workload and leave management. Key representational and leadership role of the school in a campus-based setting providing local responsiveness to and with campus-based Committees, external stakeholders and / or industry partners. Training, and Community Engagement in the context of organisational and Faculty strategies. Formal supervision of the staff of the school who are located on the Fremantle campus. ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
Eligibility for teacher registration/accreditation in Australia. Experience
Experienced in teaching primary or secondary level in Australian schools. Demonstrated success in tertiary teaching in the field of Education. Demonstrated research outcomes commensurate with the academic level of appointment. Leadership experience at Program or Discipline Coordinator or similar level in a university. Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University. BENEFITS
