THIS POSITION IS BASED IN KALBARRI APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION CLOSE ATMIDDAY ON MONDAY, 13 JANUARY 2025 The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra.
The regional headquarters is in Geraldton.
District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Gascoyne Junction, Mount Augustus, Yulga Jinna, Monkey Mia, Kalbarri, Cervantes and Lancelin.
We are currently seeking a Nanda Parks Coordinator to join our team in Kalbarri.
Under the limited direction of the Operations Manager, you will:
Actively engage with the district leadership team to lead, coordinate and/or support where appropriate, implementation of management plans, works programs and projects on the Nanda conservation estate relating to conservation; parks and visitor services; enforcement, fire and joint management.Ensure appropriate systems for environmental and cultural management, planning and developing capital works projects, community interpretation and education, enforcement, visitor risk, staff management, marketing, promotion, recreation and tourism programs and events.Lead departmental liaison with Nanda Traditional Owners, stakeholders, neighbours, community, other agencies and the media in relation to management of the Nanda conservation estate.At DBCA, we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector.

Selection Criteria Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria.
These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.
Considerable experience in and understanding of the issues involved in managing natural and cultural areas for nature conservation, recreation and cultural tourism values, with a preference for someone with experience in managing conservation estate in a high-visitation context.Demonstrated experience of high-level leadership and management of staff, researchers, contractors and volunteers, including the ability to conduct employee development and performance management reviews.Evidence of highly developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in effective liaison and negotiation at a senior level with external organisations, stakeholders, commercial operators, community groups and the media; and handling complex and detailed interactions to achieve organisational objectives; with a preference for someone with experience working with Traditional Owners to deliver their native title aspirations and goals through joint management, cooperation, or collaborative arrangements.Demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of administrative and financial management, including project management, budget preparation, expenditure control and preparing and presenting operational reports.About Us DBCA, one of Western Australia's largest state government agencies, providing exciting and challenging career opportunities in biodiversity conservation and park and natural resource management.
