The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic Health & Safety Officer to join the team at Bengalla.
Working a Monday-Friday dayshift roster this role will report to the Health & Safety Superintendent.
You will provide support to all areas of the business in relation to health, safety and well-being.
The Health and Safety team is a small group of passionate professionals that support the mine.
This is a diverse and challenging opportunity that requires a solid health and safety background, effective problem-solving skills and good knowledge of risk management.
This role is a full time, fixed term contract of 12 months.
In this role, you will be responsible for: The provision of safety support to ensure workplace safety.
Promoting a positive health and safety culture, emphasizing safe behaviours and practices.
Proactively identifying improvement opportunities and implementing preventive measures to enhance safety standards.
OH&S reporting requirements.
Collection, input, analysis and interpretation of statistical data.
Maintaining the operational OH&S Management systems.
Providing training and assistance to site personnel in the use of OH&S Management systems.
Effective Injury management and Return to Work processes.
Preparation, administration, and participation in internal and external audits.
Assistance with implementation of any new/revised health and safety standards.
Apply risk management processes to minimise workplace hazards.
Assist in investigations.
Assist in the coordination of the site's chemical management program.
Assist with Health and Safety meetings.
Qualifications and experience To be successful in this role you will have: Formal qualifications in Health and Safety (e.g., Certificate IV in WHS) Return to work certification (preferred) Current First Aid Certificate (preferred) Current Driver's License A proven and committed approach to health, safety and well-being.
