NT State Lead – Defence You will be responsible for the identification, pursuit and delivery of Defence Contracts in the Northern Territory. Your previous success and relationships in this space will see you well-placed to impact positively towards substantial growth in the value, complexity, and number of projects that the business will deliver in the next 2-3 years. With a planned further increase in annual spend in the region, this role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to harness the current pipeline of work and build on an existing experienced team to make the Northern Territory business unit the largest in our client's group.
The State Lead will be supported by a highly motivated National Defence division, along with an executive leadership team that will work collaboratively to set and achieve growth strategies for this business unit. It is preferred that the candidate is based in Darwin, however relocation or remote management options will be considered for a suitable applicant.
This role will suit a motivated and progressive leader, who relishes autonomy and can build a local team culture that supports our client's visions and goals.
Previous Experience Operations or State Manager (highly regarded). Prepare budgets and report/deliver to these. Strong commercial acumen, responsible for P&L of a business unit or business. Demonstrated experience in pre-contracts. Demonstrated delivery of multiple construction and/or infrastructure projects >$50M (Australian Construction sector). Ability to manage multiple business lines and deliver operational and growth strategies for all. Source, retain and manage a local team to deliver local operations. Ability to focus teams to deliver all of the business unit/s objectives. Maintain a collaborative and inclusive workplace that encourages diversity, flexibility and development/promotion from within. Maintain a workplace and culture that values relationships within and outside the business. Set and implement business development strategies to ensure that the business is a long-term, sustainable Contracting business in the region. Australian citizen with full security clearance and Defence project delivery experience.
