With your passion for supporting families you will:Plan & deliver peer support group(s) tailored for eligible parents of children with a disability or chronic medical condition.Create a comfortable environment that encourages participation and conversation from all participants. Facilitate discussion, develop relationships, support parents to identify needs and tailor group sessions to meet needs of parents.Collaboratively plan & deliver 6 sessions each school term.Have casual & flexible working arrangements within school hours and school terms.You will be responsible for organising guest speakers and guest services from the local community who can also support the parents' needs, and assist with promoting and advertising the group sessions amongst local agencies and primary stakeholders. You will provide support to an assisting play helper and ensure children are supervised and appropriate activities are provided. You will manage a set group budget and report expenses accordingly, along with monitoring and reporting attendance data.About YouYou are an engaging and supportive facilitator with experience working with families and may include parents of children with complex needs. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you create positive group experiences for participants and can deal effectively with issues as they arise. You demonstrate an understanding of community development approaches and applying these skills within the group sessions and plans.
